“100 Most Creative People in Business”

Congratulations to my cousin Josh Sapan for his Induction into the 2013 Cable Hall of Fame. Josh started out traveling from city to city in his station wagon with a portable movie camera. He would host a portable movie showing. His innovative style brought him to companies such as Showtime and in 1980 he spear headed the development and success of Bravo. Where he watched shows such as Inside the Actors Studio and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy become household names. In 2002 he sold Bravo to NBC

Today he is responsible for the overall management of AMC Networks. The network company owns and operates several leading entertainment brands such as, AMC, IFC, Sundance Channel, WE tv and IFC Films. His dedication and excellence in the cable industry has transformed cable television into the  leading destination for compelling entertainment. The industry credits him for developing the new “Golden age of television”. This is primarily due to such series such as  THE WALKING DEAD, MAD MEN and BREAKING BAD.

Fast Company magazine has recognized Josh as “100 Most Creative People in Business”. He is one of entertainment’s premier innovators and a pioneer in the cable industry. Due to his passion it is changing the way people watch TV today. TV is everywhere and he thinks this is great. You can remotely program your Television from your tablet or mobile device to program a show which you will later watch from the kitchen and moving it to the bedroom without missing any portion of the program.

He believes one of the most innovative ways to advertise is through Social Shopping. Taking down the walls of advertising and putting the  distribution of the product into the hands of the consumer through videos that are designed to go viral. Brand and Entertainment is developed through the principles of marketing, creative development and choice of media. When you incorporate this all in one and give the power to the people to willfully distribute the product the outcome is the recipient which is the marketer has just bypassed all the things that had to originally be bought, paid for and planned.

I have been a business owner for over 25 years but can say for the first time; “I own my business it doesn’t own me.” I have traded in my Brick and Mortar for a Click and Order. This gives me financial and time freedom. My business is operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week with no employees. I wake up when I am done sleeping and am able to work anywhere in the world there is a WiFi connection.
