A friend is someone that understands your past, believes in your future and accepts you today just as you are. To many times we get caught up in our lives and forget the simple fundamental steps to being a friend.
- Compliment them on how they look even if you may not love the look. If they feel good that is whats important
- Be truthful without being hurtful
- Listen even when you are too busy
- Make time to spend one on one time with each other
- Treat them as you would like to be treated
We all grow in different directions some of us get married, move away, have a family, expand in our professional career but we never should abandon our friends. Sometimes your old friends may not have the same interest as your new friends but one thing they do have in common is YOU. Look in the mirror and ask yourself would you be your friend? Would you answer the phone for you at 3AM? More importantly would you get out of bed to help you at 3AM?
Friendship is a gift we not only give to others but we receive when we give.
